Last Christmas we planted 750 trees in an acre of woodland in Leicestershire. It was our first foray into planting trees in a bid to play a part in improving our air quality and, while we haven’t about to visit lately, we are told by the Woodland Trust that our ‘Wallywood’, which sits in the Queen Eilzabeth Diamond Jubilee Wood, is flourishing into beautiful young woodland made up of oak, field maple, silver birch, beech and hornbeam, with the majority of our trees now reaching 5ft in height.
We look forward to visiting when lockdown is over and we can move safely around the country.
